Some years ago, the #MeToo movement reminded us that a single story, shared in one corner of the world, could ignite a global wave. People from vastly different cultures and backgrounds found resonance—proving that when experiences are deeply human, language is no barrier.

Hidden Tunes shows us that truth once again. Through music, emotion, and powerful storytelling, it speaks across languages—because when emotions are universal, understanding needs no translation.

Hidden Tunes is a bold Mandarin musical blending infectious Mando-pop, traditional Chinese instruments, and live English subtitles. After premiering to critical acclaim at La Mama’s Festival of Mother Tongue in 2024, and earning a Green Room Award nomination for Outstanding Artist in a Leading Role (Lansy Feng), this original production returns—with new songs, deeper stories, and a striking new stage design.

Set in a prestigious music academy, the story is inspired by the #MeToo movement and follows the ripple effects of a sexual harassment case on campus. As silence spreads and loyalties are tested, friends, classmates, and professors must each decide: Will they stand by—or speak up?
